High school and college students as well as all others interested in learning about science are invited to attend the second student-led University of Guam College of Natural & Applied Sciences STEM Conference. The conference will be held online from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, April 22, and Saturday, April 23.
STEM conference schedule
Under the theme “Strengthening the Roots of STEM,” the STEM Conference will 1) showcase the research projects of Guam students, 2) delve into current local/global matters and research on Guam, and 3) explore the many opportunities available to students.
We’re looking forward to another successful year of STEM with our lineup of keynote speakers, live-session presenters, and expo booths. We hope to encourage all aspiring future scientists to continue the work they’ve been doing and to work together to ‘Strengthen the Roots of STEM’ here on Guam.’
Mary Heather Jingco, conference chair
Many UOG students have been working closely with on- and off-island research mentors, said conference organizer and senior biology major Sabrina Zhi, and the conference will provide an opportunity for them to present their work in poster sessions.
“We hope this event can help provide accessible on-island opportunities for students to share their projects with the community,” she said.
